Relevance of the South African Carcass Classification System

This was the topic of the 12th Meat Symposium held at UP in November 2014

The South African cattle and small stock description systems can be traced back to 1932. Over time these description systems have been adopted and refined as informed by research in consultation with industry role players. A critical rethink of the relevance of the current carcass classification system will be the theme of the day.
